Once upon a time,
In your land,
When men completed their purpose,
Ready to exit their stage,
Nothing left to do,
Nothing other than burden,
Cast over the precipice.

The Romans did it too,
To the ones they'd grown tired of.

I was waiting for you all my life
But the ships already passed each other
Train has left the station
Bus driver paid no heed to my waving

Like the Romans would do
To the smart, to the diligent,
to the thoughtful,
to the downright annoying,
I'd like to be condemned from memory.

An annoying problem
To those forced to carry a part
Of me within.

"Loyal to a fault"

Lucretia did the same,
For tempting men into violation
Should I have done the same?
Is my pain divine vindication?

"Although I acquit myself of the sin,
I do not free myself from the penalty."

Angelic as you are,
The Lord might have sent you to torture me on this earth
Before the next.

"God gives the sign for an individual's departure."
